I LOVED this challenge.

It completely changed the way I approach life. Not having to worry about the future or stress about whether I would accomplish my ambitious goals and projects allowed me to enjoy the present moment: I spent time with my loved ones; I took long, relaxing walks; I mused about how awesome life is and how lucky I am to be alive.

I also made sure to have meaningful conversations with everyone I cared about. I told them I loved them—something that’s VERY difficult for me—and how grateful I was to have them in my life. I asked them existential questions and got to know them in ways I never had. Most of the conversations were short—5-10 minutes—but I got so much out of them. I now feel closer to them than I ever had.

I could die tomorrow and not have any regrets. Well, that’s not entirely true. I would still feel as though I’d missed out on a lot of things, but I would die knowing I told my loved ones how much I care about them. That alone made this entire experience worth it. Learning not to stress and take time to relax and enjoy life was just a bonus.
